CDB-L History

CDB-L was created in 1994 by Alternatives Federal Credit Union founder, Bill Myers, and acquired by OFN in 2011. In 2014, OFN transitioned the listserv from its longtime home on the Cornell University server to the OFN server. CDB-L was an active, free, ongoing e-mail discussion group for opportunity finance practitioners. Its more than 4,500 subscribers include all four types of CDFIs—community development loan funds, credit unions, banks, and venture capital funds—as well as like-minded people from corporations, funders, government, and mainstream finance.

Now, with the launch of CDFI Connect® Community on October 25, 2017, CDB-L is once again evolving into a new, more dynamic platform that will greatly expand its functionality and reach.
